Illahe Vineyards: A Winery Tasting & Behind the Scenes Visit. Virtually

Get Cooking

For this first in our new and exciting Winery Series in partnership with sommelier Sasha McCauley, we invite you to join us for a tasting from the winery floor at Illahe Vineyards in Oregon. We will be joining Bethany Ford, virtually, for a behind the scenes visit to her family’s winery so that you can see where the wine is made. Bethany will guide us through a tasting of four wines from Illahe’s portfolio of handcrafted wines: you can order a wine package of your choice to taste with us too (last orders end of Saturday July 18th for pickup at Get Cooking on July 22nd between 12-4pm or at an alternative time by prior appointment).

  • Our Estate Wine Package includes Illahe’s Estate Pinot Gris and Estate Pinot Noir;
  • Our Bon Sauvage Wine Package includes Illahe’s Estate Pinot Gris, Tempranillo Rosé, Estate Pinot Noir and Bon Sauvage Pinot Noir.

As an add-on to your experience, from our Edmonton studio, we’ll also be showing you how to prepare some delicious Ricotta Stuffed Zucchini Flower Fritters, to pair with the wines that you are tasting. And you can join us earlier at 4:30pm to prepare with us our Salmon Rillettes, to pair with Illahe’s delicious Pinot Noirs.

We hope that you will join us for this unique opportunity to meet the people behind the wines.

Ingredients for Stuffed & Deep Fried Zucchini Flowers*: zucchini flowers, ricotta, lemon juice and zest, fresh mint (or herbs of choice), salt and pepper, canola oil for deep frying, self raising flour (baking powder added to all purpose flour), soda water or beer

* We will be discussing potential substitutions for ingredients during your class

Class Fee:$20 plus GST. Your Fee Includes: A 90-120 minute virtual tasting and behind the scenes visit, with an integrated cooking class.  Your recipe will be delivered in advance, so you can shop for ingredients and cook along with us during your class if you wish.
