Virtual Canning Class: Intermediate Pickled Vegetables

Join our special guest presenter Johwanna Alleyne of MoJo JoJo Pickles and follow along with her for this intermediate class on pickled vegetables. Johwanna will take you through a quick review of the basics of canning pickles then teach you how you can step up your game with improvising, prepping mixed vegetables, changing flavour profiles and fancy packing.  During your virtual canning class you’ll learn how to prep, cook and can Giardinaria, a pickled relish combining mixed seasonal vegetables in an aromatic brine. Johwanna’s online canning class will give you the confidence to read and follow pickling recipes on your own, setting you up for canning success in the future.

Class Fee: $35.00 plus GST (pricing is per device and allows multiple participants to attend using a single device).

Your Fee Includes: A 90 minute virtual class; a recipe pack including info on equipment needed; 7 day access to a recording of your class (you can extend your access to 30 days for an additional $5).

Upon purchase, your Zoom meeting link plus ID and password will be included in your Event Confirmation email – please be sure to save this information as you will need it to join your class.

Our recipes are distributed manually. If you sign up within 24 hours of your class time, you may not receive the recipe before the class starts. A summary of ingredients required follows:

Ingredients, Giardinaria: cauliflower, onion, celery, carrot, zucchini or eggplant, pickling salt, sweet or hot peppers, white or cider vinegar, sugar, bay leaves, peppercorns, garlic.

Once downloaded Zoom will help you set up your free account then you’re ready to join us. Zoom will prompt you and ask for permission to use your devices, camera and audio, please accept the requests. Once logged in click “Join” from the home page and enter your Meeting ID and Password, which will be sent to you in your Event Confirmation.
