Join our Masterchef Alumnus and Dumpling pro Mai Nguyen for this very seasonal class on Pumpkin Pie Dessert Dumplings. We’ll be using freshly roasted local Pumpkin for Mai’s filling, but you can also used canned. And after you make Mai’s delicious filling you’ll learn how to fill and fold your dumplings using store bought wrappers, as well as how to make a Salted Caramel Sauce to complement them! NOTE: Your dumplings can be frozen and cooked from frozen, and the sauce will keep in your fridge for up to 2 weeks, and can also be frozen.
Ingredients for Pumpkin Filling*: cream cheese, pumpkin purée (canned or homemade), sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, glove, salt.
Ingredients for Salted Caramel Sauce*: granulated sugar, butter, heavy cream, sea salt.
Optional garnishes: toasted pumpkin seeds, toasted walnuts/pecans, crumbled graham crackers, fleur de sel, sour cream/crème fraiche.
** We will be using store bought, ROUND dumpling wrappers in your class. Mai prefers Wing’s brand (available at Lucky 97 if you are in Edmonton, AB)
* We’ll be discussing potential substitutions for ingredients during your class.
Class Fee: $20.00 plus GST. Your Fee Includes: A 60 minute virtual class, including a virtual recipe pack with info on equipment needed. Our recipes are distributed manually. If you sign up within 24 hours of your class time, you may not receive the recipe in advance. We will attach it in Zoom Chat at the start of your class. Please use the ingredient list above to shop for your class.
Software Requirement: We are using Zoom for our virtual classes. If you aren’t already using Zoom you can download their free app for Windows, Mac, Android or Apple iOS here. Upon purchase, your meeting ID and password will be included in your Event Confirmation email – please be sure to save this information as you will need it to join your class.

Once downloaded Zoom will help you set up your free account then you’re ready to join us. Zoom will prompt you and ask for permission to use your devices camera and audio, please accept the requests. Once logged in click “Join” from the home page and enter your Meeting ID, which will be sent to you by email with your recipes.
