In the best sushi restaurants in Japan, new sushi chefs will often spend the first years of their career focusing only on making perfect sushi rice. At the Get Cooking studio, Kathryn and Elyse will show you how to make perfect sushi rice at home in a fraction of the time! And since sushi is much more than just rice, you’ll learn how to roll your own basic maki, uramaki (inside out rolls) and temaki (cones) too.
From the proper preparation of rice to choosing the right fish and accompaniments, this class will provide you with a solid foundation for turning your home kitchen into your own private sushi bar (karaoke optional). Plus you’ll learn how to make Tempura since Kathryn and Elyse will be demonstrating to you as they prepare your appetizer of Assorted Vegetable & Shrimp Tempura.
Vegetarian substitutions are available on request.
Class Fee: $115.00 per person, plus GST, sold as a single ticket for 2 attendees at one work station for a total of $230.00 plus GST. Your Fee Includes: a 3 hour class including an arrival drink and a tempura appetizer as well as the sushi you make, with a glass of wine. Your leftover sushi will be packed up for you to take home. Additional wine by the glass or bottle is available for purchase.
CANCELLATION POLICY: If you need to cancel your booking you must do so no less than 14 days prior to the date of your class in order to receive a refund. Cancellations within 2 weeks of a class will not be refunded or rescheduled.
