Join our own star baker Larry Harris, winner of the Pretzel Challenge on Series 4 of The Great Canadian Baking Show, for this virtual baking class on how to make your own homemade Pretzels. During his online baking class Larry will walk you through how to make his Pretzel dough then while it rises, you’ll prepare a lye or a baking soda solution for dipping your pretzels for their characteristic deep golden colour. Finally, while your pretzels bake, Larry will teach you how to make his delicious Mustard Dipping Sauce and Kathryn will guide you through how to make her decadent Beer Cheese Fondue.
Class Fee: $40.00 plus GST (pricing is per device and allows multiple participants to attend using a single device).
Your Fee Includes: A 120 minute cooking class; a recipe pack including info on equipment needed; 7 day access to a recording of your class (you can extend your access to 30 days for an additional $5).
Upon purchase, your Zoom meeting link plus ID and password will be included in your Event Confirmation email – please be sure to save this information as you will need it to join your class.
Our recipes are distributed manually. If you sign up within 24 hours of your class time, you may not receive the recipe before the class starts. A summary of ingredients required follows:
Ingredients for Pretzels: unbleached flour, salt, instant yeast, diastatic malt powder (optional), molasses, butter, rice flour, pretzel salt or coarse salt, food grade lye (optional, an alternative method for dipping pretzels before baking is with baking soda and egg yolk).
Ingredients for Beer Cheese Fondue: garlic, beer, cornstarch, Emmenthaler cheese, old cheddar cheese.
Ingredients for Mustard Dip: dijon mustard, grainy mustard, creamy horseradish, apple cider vinegar.

We use Zoom for our online classes. If you aren’t already using Zoom you can download their free app for Windows, Mac, Android or Apple iOS here.
Once downloaded Zoom will help you set up your free account then you’re ready to join us. Zoom will prompt you and ask for permission to use your devices, camera and audio, please accept the requests. Once logged in click “Join” from the home page and enter your Meeting ID and Password, which will be sent to you in your Event Confirmation.
