Join Masterchef Back to Win contestant Mai Nguyen for her virtual cooking class and learn how to make Malloreddus at home. Made with a simple Semolina Pasta Dough, this quick and easy pasta requires minimal equipment and ingredients, since it’s made from just semolina flour, water and salt. And so you can turn your pasta into a meal Mai’s online cooking class will include a Sardinian Sausage and Tomato Campidanese Sauce to accompany your Malloreddus. NOTE: If you’re a vegetarian, or if you don’t eat pork, you can make a Tomato Sauce instead, by leaving out the meat!
Ingredients for Semolina Pasta Dough*: semolina flour
Ingredients for Sardinian Meat Sauce (Campidanese)*: olive oil, medium onion, cloves garlic, bay leaf, pork and fennel sausages or Italian sausages or ground pork, whole tomatoes, fennel seeds, a pinch of saffron threads, salt and pepper, pecorino, fresh basil (optional)
* We’ll be discussing potential substitutions for ingredients during your class, including using ground chicken instead of ground pork.
