Join our expert on Indian cooking Aditya Raghavan for this virtual cooking class featuring his deliciously slow cooked South Indian Pork Curry. Featuring a selection of slowly toasted spices, Addie’s Pandi Curry comes from the state of Karnataka, where it is typically served with Rice Balls made from Rice Semolina. In the first hour of your online cooking class, you’ll marinate your pork and get your curry started then we’ll leave it braising slowly before we come back to finish your curry, and make the Rice Balls and a simple stir fried Spinach to accompany (you can also serve your curry with plain Basmati Rice).

Ingredients for Pork Marinade*: 1 kg boneless pork shoulder/pork butt, turmeric, Kashmiri red chili powder (or substitute with cayenne pepper and paprika), ground black pepper, fresh ginger, garlic, salt.

Ingredients for Pandi Curry*: coriander seeds, black mustard seeds, cumin seeds, fenugreek seeds, clove, onions, Thai green chilies, grapeseed oil (or canola oil), black pepper, tamarind, vinegar.

Ingredients for Rice Balls*: idli rava (also known as rice semolina), salt, oil.

Ingredients for Spinach*: leaf spinach,kashmiri chili peppers (dried), cumin seeds, salt, oil.

* Please note that we will be discussing potential substitutions for ingredients during your class.

Class Fee: $27.50 plus GST (pricing is per device and allows multiple participants to attend using a single device). Your Fee Includes: A 120 minute cooking class plus a recipe pack including info on equipment needed. Our recipes are distributed manually. If you sign up within 24 hours of your class time, you may not receive the recipe in advance. We will attach it in Zoom Chat at the start of your class. Please use the ingredient list above to shop for your class.

Software Requirement: We are using Zoom for our virtual classes. If you aren’t already using Zoom you can download their free app for Windows, Mac, Android or Apple iOS hereUpon purchase, your meeting ID and password will be included in your Event Confirmation email – please be sure to save this information as you will need it to join your class.

Once downloaded Zoom will help you set up your free account then you’re ready to join us. Zoom will prompt you and ask for permission to use your devices camera and audio, please accept the requests.
