Virtual Cooking Class: Vietnamese Rice Noodles – Chicken Pho

Join our favourite Masterchef Alumna and Back to Win Contestant Mai Nguyen, as she teaches you how to make Pho Ga (Chicken Pho) using an Instant Pot to cook the broth. We’ll start our online cooking class at 2pm, when we’ll get our chicken broths going. Then we’ll take a break while the broth is cooking and come back to finish it with chicken and garnishes just in time for your evening supper. And if you’d like to stay with us for the break, sign up for Mai’s virtual cooking class on Vietnamese Spring Rolls at 3pm too, they’re the perfect appie for your Pho Ga. NOTE: you will need an instant pot or pressure cooker if you plan to finish your Pho during the class.

Ingredients for Chicken Pho Broth: chicken carcasses, chicken feet, yellow onion, fresh ginger, cinnamon sticks, whole star anise, fish sauce, whole coriander seeds, yellow rock sugar (or granulated sugar).

Ingredients for Chicken Pho: Chicken Pho Broth, fresh pho noodles, boneless chicken breasts/thighs, yellow onion, green onions, cilantro.

Optional Garnishes: bean sprouts, Thai basil, lime wedges, jalapenos, bird eye chilies, hoison sauce, sriracha, ground pepper.

Class Fee: $25.00 plus GST (pricing is per device and allows multiple participants to attend using a single device). Your Fee Includes: A 90 minute cooking class plus a recipe pack including info on equipment needed. Our recipes are distributed manually. If you sign up within 24 hours of your class time, you may not receive the recipe in advance. We will attach it in Zoom Chat at the start of your class. Please use the ingredient list above to shop for your class – if our ingredient list isn’t up yet, then the recipe is in the works and it’s coming very soon!

Software Requirement: We are using Zoom for our virtual classes. If you aren’t already using Zoom you can download their free app for Windows, Mac, Android or Apple iOS hereUpon purchase, your meeting ID and password will be included in your Event Confirmation email – please be sure to save this information as you will need it to join your class.

We use Zoom for our online classes. If you aren’t already using Zoom you can download their free app for Windows, Mac, Android or Apple iOS here.

Once downloaded Zoom will help you set up your free account then you’re ready to join us. Zoom will prompt you and ask for permission to use your devices camera and audio, please accept the requests. Once logged in click “Join” from the home page and enter your Meeting ID, which will be sent to you by email with your recipes.
