Chef José Montan is a Chilean chef currently based in Edmonton, Canada, with a deep passion for sharing the flavours and traditions of Latin American cuisine. With years of professional kitchen experience, José brings not only technical skill but also cultural storytelling to every class he teaches.
Growing up surrounded by the vibrant food culture of Chile and neighboring countries like Peru and Argentina, José developed a love for fresh ingredients, bold flavours, and the social experience that happens around the table. His cooking style blends traditional techniques with modern creativity, always focusing on simplicity, balance, and respect for ingredients.
After moving to Canada, José began sharing his culinary knowledge through cooking classes and digital content, inspiring others to explore Latin American cuisine in an approachable and fun way. Whether teaching the art of ceviche, seafood preparation, or classic comfort dishes, his classes focus on building confidence in the kitchen while celebrating culture through food.
