Theo Ambie-Barango
Theo hails from Rivers State, Nigeria. He is a person of many passions. For him, self expression is the goal; the medium, is secondary. Having dipped his toe in the world of writing, as a published author, and taken the stage as a pianist and composer of jazz, blues and soul tracks, Theo has turned his gaze to the kitchen.
His specialty is Nigerian cuisine. Though, after more than a decade in Canada, he has harnessed his culinary skill to be a blend of his Nigerian heritage and the mosaic of cultures that he has had the privilege of interacting with and learning from.
Cooking, for Theo, and many Nigerians like him, is like art. The color palette of the bell peppers, the purple (or red) of the onion, thick red of palm oil, they all flow together to paint a picture of his colorful mind.
Many of his recipes were passed down to him by word of mouth, as is common with Nigerians; and he is now poised and ready to share them with you, one delicacy at a time.
