Join Kathryn Joel and learn how to create your own Bento Box selection of Sushi Rolls and Tempura together with Spiced Edamame Beans. You'll prepare your rice before your class using Kathryn's pre-recorded instructional video. Then during the live and interactive portion of your class you'll use your rice to make some easy Maki rolls as well as Inside Out Rolls with your choice of fillings. You'll also prepare our Spiced Edamame and make our light and crispy Tempura Batter then use it to prepare a mixed selection of Veggies & Shrimp together with a dipping sauce. By the end of our class your Bento Box will be ready to serve, for your evening meal.

Ingredients, Sushi Rolls: nori, sushi rice (we use Kokuho Rose), seasoned sushi vinegar (Japanese Seasoned Rice Vinegar), your choice of fillings and garnishes, to serve: wasabi, soy sauce, sushi ginger
Ingredients, Sriracha Mayonnaise: kewpie Japanese mayonnaise, Sriracha sauce, lime or lemon, Shichimi togarashi spice blend (optional)
Ingredients, Chop Chop: sushi grade scallops, Sriracha Mayonnaise
Ingredients, Shrimp & Vegetable Tempura: large shrimp (peeled and deveined), oil for deep frying, vegetables of your choice
Ingredients, Tempura Dipping Sauce: soy sauce, dashi powder, ginger, shichimi powder, lime
Ingredients, Tempura Batter: eggs, soda water, cake and pastry flour
Ingredients, Shrimp Marinade (optional): rice vinegar, ponzu sauce, sesame oil
Ingredients, Spiced Edamame: frozen edamame in their shells, peanut oil (or grapeseed, canola oil), sesame oil, garlic, chili oil (or chili garlic paste or sambal), black sesame seeds, maldon sea salt to finish (optional)
Speciality Equipment: fan for cooling your rice, bamboo sushi rolling mat, deep fryer or deep wide pot with a clip-on frying thermometer or digital thermometer

Then together we'll make two different filled pastas with sauces. We'll begin with an easy Ravioli, filled with Winter Squash and served with a Parsley & Walnut "Pesto" Sauce.
